Rookie Chad Finley, for Brad Keselowski Racing, Solid in Menards 200 Toledo Debut
|
DeWITT MI (5-20-09) - While 18-year-old rookie Parker Kligerman made headlines with his career-first ARCA RE/MAX Series victory in
the Menards 200 Sunday at Toledo Speedway, 17-year-old Chad Finley made some noise of his own.
Finley, in his career-first start driving for Brad Keselowski Racing (BKR), steered the no. 29 Auto Value-Bumper to Bumper Parts Stores
& Certified Service Centers Chevrolet to a solid sixth place finish.
"Toledo was a great learning curve for me," said the DeWitt, Michigan teenager. "I can't thank Wayne Setterington (crew chief) and all the
guys from BKR enough for giving me a great racecar for my first series start.
"The car was really good and drove well. We struggled a little bit in the middle of the race with oil all over the window from another car
that made it real tough to see, but Wayne talked me through it."
Finley's father and former ARCA RE/MAX Series winner Jeff Finley was also on hand for the race.
"I was really impressed with the whole team," said Jeff. "All of the BKR guys just did an outstanding job with Chad.
"As for Chad; he performed to a standard that was just unbelievable. His maturity and calmness simply amazed me. My guys did very
well for their very first time. This was a great boost for us all."
Finley's next scheduled start for Brad Keselowski Racing in the ARCA RE/MAX Series will be on July 11th at Iowa Speedway.
"I'm really excited to get to Iowa Speedway and learn some more," added Chad. "We would like to welcome a new sponsor for Iowa,
http://www.baysideinnkeylargo.com/. We are very thankful for their support.
"I also want to thank Auto Value Parts Stores and Certified Service Centers, Northside Towing , my dad and our outlaw late model crew
guys. Everyone did a great job (at Toledo)."
In addition to Iowa, Finley is scheduled to race in the ARCA RE/MAX Series at Berlin Raceway July 25th, again at Toledo September 4th
and in the season finale at Rockingham Speedway October 11th.
Finley will also be busy right on through Memorial Day Weekend with outlaw late model races at Spartan Friday, where he's the track's
point leader, and at Berlin Saturday.
