Third Place Finish at Pocono has 18-year-old Chad Finley heading "Home" to Michigan on a high note
|
DeWitt, Michigan (Sunday, June 6, 2010):
After showing glimpses of stardom in the ARCA Racing Series Presented by RE/MAX and Menards in limited
appearances during the 2009 racing season, 18-year-old Chad Finley is proving in 2010 that he's now a threat to
win when he enters any race on any track on the 2010 ARCA Schedule.
Finley proved that point at the huge 2.5 mile multi-banked triangular paved oval of the Pocono Raceway in Pocono,
Pennsylvania on Saturday, June 5th in the running of the Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200.
After Qualifying Fourth fastest in Menards Pole Qualifying, the DeWitt, Michigan standout in his #29 Auto Value Parts
Stores and Certified Service Centers / AutoParts2020.com / Brad Keselowski Racing (BKR) machine ran up front all
day long and had a chance to win late in the afternoon en route to a third place finish.
"Pocono was very unique. The three different corners are very challenging and keeps you up on the wheel every
lap," Explained Finley after his podium run in the Keystone State. "We had a good car and I can't thank the BKR
guys enough. Never seeing this place before and qualifying fourth is all about them giving me good cars and our
PME engines are just outstanding."
The Great Lakes State driver added; "We were going to try and get them on fuel mileage at the end until that last
caution. We had enough fuel to go the distance as we where riding around logging laps. That would have been big.
We were just way too tight to get them in that last five lap sprint. Proud of every one though. Can't wait for MIS
(Michigan International Speedway), we're getting there. Patience is tough deal but I feel we Will get there soon." He
ended.
There's no time for rest for Finley and the BKR Team with a brief road trip south down US127 in his home state of
Michigan on the agenda for this Friday, June 11th at the 2.0 mile d-shaped paved oval of the Michigan International
Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan for the Racing for Wildlife 200.
After Michigan, a return visit to Pocono is in order on Saturday July 31st for the Weis Markets 125. Then another
race close to home will be the Chicagoland ARCA 150 at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois on August 27th.
In addition, plans also call for Finley to race the ARCA shows at Iowa Speedway (July 10th), Kansas Speedway
(September 30th) and the 2010 season finale at Rockingham Speedway on October 9th.
In addition to his ARCA schedule, Finley will also race in several events scheduled across the Midwestern United
States, primarily in his home state of Michigan as well as Indiana and Ohio aboard his NorthsideTowing.net /
