Hello to All. Wow what a weekend we had at the ROCK. I was so proud of everyone on this race team it
was unbelievable. We started out heading to North Carolina with a stop at the Toledo Speedway for the
Glass City 200. Spent all morning and afternoon at the track getting through tech and sizing up tires,
which takes a long time when you are getting 3 sets. Got everything done and got on the track and the
2nd lap the motor blew up. What a heart breaker that was. Loaded everything up, and Dad and Chad
drove it back to the race shop as Chuck and I headed to NC.
Spent all week at BKR working and helping on the car. Got to see Brad for a few minutes as he had just
bought a house and was working on that, as well as all his meetings he had. He was pretty cool as we
where taking his hauler and guys to the rock, and as I was thanking him for it he turned and said "your
welcome now all you have to do is go win the thing Finley, no pressure right"? We laughed, but it sent a
chill down my spine. When we got there and got on the track his 1st lap was good enough for 12th
fastest. They worked on it for a few more sessions and Wayne and the guys kept talking Chad through
how loose the car would get on long runs. They tweaked her a little more and then the rains came forcing
us to get ready to qualify without making a mock run. I was nervous and didn't have a radio on but when
Chad came by me he literally smoked that thing off in there and it stuck and he was gone. Set a new
track record and got the pole. I was just stunned. It was huge for his career as the word spread all the
way to California Speedway and my phone rang off the hook. It was a great feeling. Later at the
restaurant Wayne approached me and said "I had a deal with Brad if we sat on the pole he had to spot".
I was like no way he is not coming. Sure enough next day at 11:00 am Brad was in the hauler very proud
of everyone and congratulating all of the team. He flew home and arrived back in NC at 3:30 am so he
had to have very little sleep. I was very impressed and Chad lead 42 laps and was in the top 7 all day.
Wayne, Brad, and Chad talked about coming down pit road while we were under a red flag waiting to go
back green for a major incident on the back stretch on lap 168, I think. No one else pitted so we stayed
out, and on the restart the 25 car blew a transmission which caused a chain reaction accident tearing up
the front nose of our baysideinnkeylargo.com, Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Chevy. That took all our
down force away and the car just would not turn after that, and he brought her home 15th.
Brad was very positive as well as the whole race team afterwards stating "you did good kid, you did
good. Now we just need to find some sponsorship and you would be a great driver, and make someone
a great marketing partner".
I was impressed yet again with this whole race team. So if ya know of anyone looking to get into this
sport we would appreciate you getting in touch with us, as no partner would be too big or small. I have
been thinking of starting a web site help ChadFinley.com in hopes of getting a million people to send a
dollar then we are on our way. Will see what happens in the next few weeks as we have some folks we
are currently talking with. Thanks for checking in

Respectfully Jeff Finley
